1. Submitted material and AI processing

Your script is read through the API of a major U.S. large language model provider to generate the read. We don't keep your pages and don't train on your work. The provider processes the pages under its API data terms, which govern the provider side.

We keep submitted material only long enough to run and briefly recover the read you request. We do not save the uploaded file or extracted screenplay text to your account or persistent project storage. A generated read may contain short evidence anchors or proofreading excerpts from your material. We may save that generated read and related project information to your account so that you can return to them and run revision reads.

The provider states that it does not use business/API customer content to develop or improve its services unless the customer explicitly agrees, and it describes those commitments in its published API terms. Our Terms of Service identify the class of providers we use and link their terms.

2. Scope

This policy explains how Three Rules LLC, doing business as The Read Before ("TRB," "we," or "us"), collects, uses, and discloses information when you visit our website or use our script-read service.

3. Information we process

Depending on how you use TRB, we may process:

• account and contact information, including your email address;
• scripts, treatments, project context, and other material you submit for a read;
• generated reads, project information, and your saved account preferences;
• purchase and transaction records; and
• basic device, browser, service-usage, and troubleshooting information.

4. How we use information

We use information to provide and secure TRB, generate and save reads, manage accounts and purchases, communicate with you, provide support, understand how the service is used, and comply with legal obligations.

5. When we disclose information

We disclose information to the major U.S. large language model providers that process reads and to service providers that help us operate authentication and accounts, payments, hosting and storage, communications and customer support, analytics, and advertising and conversion measurement. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a corporate transaction. We do not sell or rent your submitted material or generated reads.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar browser technologies for sign-in, preferences, security, and basic analytics. We also use advertising and conversion-measurement cookies from the major advertising platforms we run campaigns on, to understand which ads bring people to TRB and whether a visit leads to a purchase. We do not send submitted material, project titles, filenames, loglines, notes, or generated reads to analytics or advertising providers.

7. Retention and deletion

Saved account, transaction, and service information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain required business records, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can delete a project, including its generated reads and stored read traces, or delete your account, including its projects, generated reads, credits, preferences, and stored read traces, through the app.

Stored read traces are limited troubleshooting records. They may include account and project identifiers, timing and status, redacted prompts, and sanitized model responses; they do not contain uploaded screenplay pages. They expire after 14 days and are deleted with the related project or account.

8. Your choices

You can opt out of product-update emails, delete projects or your account, and contact us about access, correction, or deletion requests. Some records may be retained when required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
